Though N only really deploys deadly, well geared and elite soldiers to the battlefield they also need a strong domestic defense force and guards for their facilities in other lands. An ascension militant is likely a young citizen on national service or run-of-the-mill guard.

Though hero might be a strong word, these are the officers and more experienced member of the Ascension Defense Force - any tougher and they would be promoted to the temple force of one of their gods. Many warriors skip this step altogether.

Warriors and Militants that show aptitude for combat are seconded to the military forces of one of the temples of the gods they worship. N produces perhaps the most elite soldiers of the Theta Wars. Templars of the major gods are most common, as they have the most worshipers and are less specialized.

Steel Mask Templar
Militants in the service of Kaea are often invited to join the Steel Crown Templars. These warriors are intimately knowledgeable the sophisticated weapons and armor systems of N and put them into good use in battle.

Brotherhood of the Crescent Moon

Once belonging to an Islamic order of assassins known as the Hashshashin. This group joined N after it fissured and split into two factions. The other faction joined The Master Church. The Brotherhood of the Crescent Moon count amongst the templars of Keskio, the goddess of the night, Malek, the moon goddess, and Tath-Qui, god of wisdom. They source other members of the temples to help with various other combat and logistical tasks.


Crescent Brother
A standard Crescent Moon Assassin, if such a thing can be standard. Trained in infiltration and cold-blooded murder. Important decisions are rarely left to brothers - if one is, their conditioning will likely make them choose the 'kill them all' option.

Combat Drugs(6cp): Hashshashin combat drugs take a combat action to use and last an hour. They grant a +2 to Athletics, Strength and Toughness and +1 to Defence and Melee. It is not safe to take more than 3 doses in 48 hours.

Mauropath
It is only some of the worshipers of Keskio that have the unique ability to manipulate darkmatter, a secret that has eluded even the most relentless of wizards in the past. It is only the mystics of Tath-Qui that can possibly have the mettle to use these powers without breaking. The union of these two disciplines bear a terrible kind of Sorcerer; The Mauropath.
